Solar Farm in Maine

Community solar provides the benefits of clean energy without the hassle of traditional solar panel installation. It is a great way to participate in the clean energy transition for renters, apartment owners, or anyone who is unable to install solar panels on their property.
In 2025, Solar Faithful launched a community solar project in Fairfield, Maine to serve 150 individual congregants of any faith in the Central Maine Power (CMP) service area. In early 2026, we filled all 150 spots for the array.
How it works:
- The participant’s household utility account is connected to the solar array in their electric utility region
- They continue to receive electricity from their current utility, and receive a credit on that electric bill as the solar array pumps clean energy into the local power grid
- The participant saves 15% of the kilowatt hour rate that is on their electric bill
We are proud to support these efforts in Maine to help individuals in faith-based communities reduce their CMP electricity costs and make a positive environmental impact.
